Who We Are

SaverLife is a national nonprofit and advocacy organization using technology to improve the financial health of people living on low-to-moderate incomes. SaverLife helps our members build financial health and savings through our fintech product, with a personalized experience that includes financial content, savings rewards and incentives, trusted referrals, and access to a supportive online community. Leveraging our fintech product and research findings, we bring our members' voices and priorities into system-level conversations to ensure current and emerging products, programs, and policies support their unique financial health journeys.

About the Role:

At SaverLife, we believe technology can be a powerful force for financial inclusion. As our Product Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing that vision to life—designing engaging, intuitive digital experiences that empower people to build financial security.

You’ll sit at the intersection of design, product strategy, and user insight, collaborating with our Product & Insights, Research, and Engineering teams—as well as external partners—to translate member needs and organizational goals into elegant, high-impact solutions. From early concept sketches to final implementation, you’ll drive the design process end-to-end, ensuring every interaction reflects both technical excellence and human-centered design.

We’re looking for a creative thinker and systems-minded problem solver who’s passionate about using design and technology to make a meaningful difference. If you thrive on collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven work, this is your opportunity to shape how SaverLife members experience their financial journey.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Management (30%):

  • Manages the product roadmap; balances user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to deliver optimal design solutions.
  • Manages project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure timely and high-quality output.
  • Defines MVPs, writes PRDs and feature specs, and prioritizes backlog items.
  • Monitors and uses data and performance metrics to guide iteration.

UX/UI design and research (35%):

  • Works closely with members and internal stakeholders to understand user needs.
  • Leads end-to-end design process, including discovery, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and usability testing.
  • Creates and maintains consistent design systems in Figma.
  • Collaborates with the Communications team to ensure design consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all features of the SaverLife platform.
  • Stays updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies relevant to the SaverLife platform.

Collaboration & Communication (30%)

  • Works closely with SaverLife’s external engineering team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborates across the ME team and SaverLife organization to ensure consistency, inclusion, and timeliness.
  • Advocates for user-centric design principles and best practices within the organization.

Other (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned and needed.

What You Bring

  • A deep understanding of how digital products can make a difference in people’s lives — and hands-on experience with platforms like SaverLife’s.
  • Comfort with modern design tools and a strong grasp of Posthog, Figma, and OneSignal (or similar platforms — we value adaptability and curiosity as much as mastery).
  • Proven skills in UX/UI design, with a passion for creating inclusive, accessible, and intuitive experiences that truly serve users.
  • Excellent communication — you’re just as confident presenting ideas to teammates as you are listening to feedback from members and stakeholders.
  • A spirit of collaboration — you thrive in cross-functional teams, bring creative solutions to complex challenges, and know how to balance user needs with organizational goals.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives — you know how to turn ideas into action (a PM certification is a plus, but not required).
  • A bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field — or equivalent experience that demonstrates your design thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • 5–7 years of experience in UX design, product design, or design management, ideally in mission-driven or user-focused environments.
